You might’ve heard about David Attenborough’s: A Life on Our Planet Show. It is a poignant reference to all the things that we can do in order to help our planet. It talks about creating an environment that is welcoming to all wildlife, and that is something that we can do in our own backyard.
Forests, fields, and other natural places have been ravaged, wrecked, and ruined in part from global warming, and in part to the construction of houses for humans.
If you love wildlife perhaps it’s time for you to take things into your own hands, and have a space that is welcoming to insects, amphibians, and birds.

Wildflowers
You would be hard-pressed to find a garden that will not benefit from wildflowers. Part of the beauty is that they are unruly and come in a wide range of colors. This is what makes them so beautiful for us to look at, as well as enticing key pollinators like bees and butterflies. Your garden will be alive for most of the spring and summer, and it will only begin to taper off in fall time.
Even the smallest area, as small as a few pots, filled with flowers will make a huge impact on your local environment.
Pond
Water sources are sacred to all animals. If you watch wildlife programs, then you will notice that many animals flock around a large body of water. And while you might not be able to facilitate an entire like, you most likely can fit in a small pond. Ideally, your pond should be fitted somewhere that has a little bit of side, and sunshine too.
This will allow for the all-important pond plants to grow and keep your pond healthy.

Bird boxes
The birds will naturally be attracted to your garden because you have so many insects buzzing around those beautiful wildflowers. But over the winter period birds can often be quite hungry.
Putting up bird boxes, and nesting houses is an ideal thing to do to encourage them over the winter to be safe and warm. They will most likely come back in the spring and breed. If a bird feels a space is safe they usually come back years on end, which means this is something that you can enjoy continuously.
Creating a space that can be used by a wide variety of wildlife can be a very impactful way to make sure that your local ecosystem and animals within the area can thrive.
